As parents become more aware and emotionally healthy, their children reap the rewards and move toward health as well. That means that integrating and cultivating your own brain is one of the most loving and generous gifts you can give your children.” ― Daniel J. Siegel

Conscious Parenting

Conscious parenting involves acknowledging that we bring our own unresolved wounds from childhood into our interactions with our kids. Often the tasks or stages that a parent struggles with most in their child’s development are ones in which they too struggled as a child. Through a compassionate holding of the child within us, we become more present, loving and understanding of our own children.

I am certified in the Hakomi Method, a gentle and powerful psychotherapy that specializes in helping adults identify how early experiences of fear and loss shape their perceptions and beliefs about the present. Such insight into one’s habitual reactions and their roots in the dilemmas of childhood shows the way to new possibilities of undefended relationship with loved ones big and small.

In addition to individual therapy for parents, I offer parenting-focused workshops for groups and organizations. Available upon request.
